I have been link building using article submissions, press releases, blog comments, forum posts, etc and I got my site on page 1 of Google , then it climbed to number 3 spot and staed there since September. I paid for domain and hosting renewal before it was due as I would be away, checked 3 days ago and the site has a "holder page" - I contacted the ISP and they confirmed receipt of payment (3rd december), I then checked the site was up again...Now when I check for my site on Gooogle, using the keyword it has completely dissapeared, I've even checked to page 10! What has happened and what can I do to rectiy this situation? My site is 3 years old, so I shouldn't be sandboxed?? My 3rd position is when I am in the UK (and search Google.co.uk), however I am currently in USA, could this be to different servers???? The site is www.pcenclosures-direct.com Any help is hughly appreciated!
Usually, a site that rank high for a certain keyword, after the domain name is expired and dropped, it still show up in the first page for result and be there for 2-3 months. You are doing fine, keep working on your site and Google will put you in page one again.
But i didnt let it expire! Who would be responsible for putting up the holding page? It can be checked by typing in google cache:www.pcenclosures-direct.com It is the hositng company or domain company, seeing I got the domain from the hositng company it's one and the same. Am I to keep up writing articles, etc?
It will be back, don't worry. Just put the whole site as it is (which I am sure you have). Also keep doing regular work as you were doing before.
Your rankings will vary from the UK to U.S.A. because they have different date centers I think your rankings will return to normal you should continue to promote your site exactly they way you have been doing.
depending on how long the site was down, it may vanish from search results. if thats the only reason your site is not showing on search results, it will come back over time.
