Of course, I believe you use asp.net. If you google 301 asp.net redirect, you would find the code sample directly.

2.how much impact on seo will it have?

Big one IMO. 301 redirect tells visitors and SEs that you are "moving" so it won't be a duplicate content.

3.I have several keywords of my website running in top 10 on Google. What impact will it have?

The new site will rank lower for awhile, then it will have the same ranking and keywords, etc. 301 is a life saver. So no problem.

4.I want to also save Page rank?

That is also saved with 301.

5.Tell me all the things needed so that the work done before could not be lost.

You need to becareful that you need to 301 all pages, not only several pages. In apache system you could do 301 mod rewrite that will make things easier for you. As far as I know with asp you need to add 301 code to each and every page of yours, so if you have 1,000 pages.... :( Well, I'm not familiar with asp.net though.

If I have strong inner page backlinks for my site, how 301 could help in it? Will 301 is to be done for these inner pages also or just have to do 301 redirect in webconfig file. When someonle click a link of our inner page lets say about us page from any other source, the page would be redirected to new home page or to the about us page in the new url.

Also, if some users have bookmarked my pages, is it okay if someday they click on their bookmark for my site, they will be redirected to the new url. or if i have to also tell them to update their bookmarks.

Domain should be 301 directed to the domain. About-Us page should be 301 directed to new About-Us page. Each old page should be 301 directed to the relevant new page.

301 will preserve your ranking (PR and SERP) on search engines.

Directories or backlinks will of course can not be changed except the webmaster change it. It is a good idea to ask webmaster or bookmarkers to change it. However, if you have tons of backlinks and tons of traffic to the old domain keeping the old site a little longer or even permanent depending the situation would be a nice move.

Visitors who visit the old site will be directed to the new site, so if they pay attention, they will change the bookmark themselves.
