blog master i like ur advice ... forseeing things long term... and my reason of cutting down sitewides is for long term benefits... because i want to improve the quality of the site... i am promoting it left and right ... if i am one of the QBC i wud've sell links at $2 / month permanent and sold the site at 150 .... but i m not doing either ... i m promoting and investing my $$ and that obviously mean i am serious about this site.
Well, I've read through this thread and everybody has their own opinions about how business should be done with regards to sitewides. This is how I do business: Recently Rob enquired about buying 2 on Zippy, he mentioned in the enquiry that 2 of 5 were available, so what's the price, the deal was done and I respect that he saw 5 sitewides available and that was what he was buying into. At that time I'd not made a decision re the number I'd make available in the future. So that's it, I will not add more to that directory as it would compromise Rob's investment. On LinkLister I have 10 and will not add any more, people who bought in seen 10 available and were buying into that. I'll never ask any subscribers to increase their payment, neither will I add any more sitewides to devalue their investment.
yes and i respect your way of doing business Syted the only reason your contract will go smooth because both sides are happy just think for once if u decide hypothetical situation... that you want to cut down sitewides or dont want to sell that many ... wouldn't u want an option to cancel subscription ??
What an excellent way to do business Syted, I could not agree more. What about the term? We never discussed the length of the agreement, I’m only new at this game but I thought a subscription was for 1 year unless an arrangement was in place before hand. Thanks Brian
i believe there is no restriction on the length of a subscription as long as both parties are happy ... unless it was decided that the buyer will pay 100$ monthly for a year ... thts the only time the subscription will last 1 year but if it was not decided i believe subscription can be cancelled by either party whenever they decide to discontinue the service
@smub - the reason why brian and myself not happy is we just recently subscribe for sitewide link less than a month ago. When we subscribed, meaning that we looking to purchase link for a longer term (at least 3 months) even though we pay on a monthly basis. If I want to purchase the link for one month only, I won't bother to subscribe. You should think about this when you decided to sell more text link on your site few weeks ago. I know 5 sitewide will give more value to your directory and link partners, but for $40 a month, I'll be looking for a better option.
the subscription was automatically cancelled by paypal because I'm having a problem with my account. Not your subscription only but all subscriptions. I already explained to you in my pm. Quote of my pm to you on May 30th.
Hi, Did you get a reply from Smug? If so what was the reply? If no reply was left I can only think that Smug had changed his mind and was glad it was cancelled? If not would be nice to here the reasons from Smug regarding this PM. Thanks Brian
no, I never got a reply for that pm. I thought he going to reply the pm with new subscription link when my current subscription expire on June 29th.
As long as your link is live, Smug has time to resolve this matter. If no reply was made you should still have the right to continue. Hopefully Smug can clear this up. Thanks Brian
We have rule like (Note: We may cancel subscriptions after at least 1 year Or you can renew subscription with current price.) in submission page. and subscription is live unless we cancel it AND past 1 year.So we can't change the price for one year.
Agreed, I sold a sitewide under these terms. • My Site reserves the right to decline a website which contains content involving hacking, cracking, warez, gambling, and pornography. • My Site does not refund any funds sent. If a payment has been sent to My Site, it is solely in My Site hand and we clearly reserve the right to decline any requested refunds. • If your website is not accepted, you will have the chance to exchange the website to one that is accepted. • You agree the website you are submitting is related to webmasters in someway. This may include technology to science genre. • My Site reserves the right to remove, move and cancel any subscriptions at any time, providing a prior notice has been sent via e-mail. • You understand that if you encounter any problems or have any queries which you want answered you may contact My Site using the contact form. • You must use proper spelling and grammar on your title. Do not use inappropriate upper-case letters to attract visitors. This gives me the right to cancel at any time, the real lesson here for us all is to state the terms before accepting payment. I also used a tick box “I understand and agree with the terms displayed above.†Evan with the above terms the buyer will remain for 1 year unless he wishes to end the agreement. That’s my way, there can be no confusion, a couple of months before this ends I will decide if I still want the sitewide on my site and if so at what price. Notice will be sent to the buyer informing him of my decision. Thanks Brian
who made this one ... alang, subscription was cancelled from your side ... whether it was paypal difficulties or what i dont know but you said remind you later when its about to expire ... if u wanted a subscription link u kno where it was .... no question needed to be asked on that one because u were / are my subscriber and only those ppl kno abt the page where all the sitewide subscriptions are listed
