Help Needed! Shine Animation. i have tutorial but need little help

    today i am really upset i am doing designing job from long time... but there is one thing that i am not able to do :(

    i will be really happy if some one can help me.

    i wanted to give the following shine effect to one object. and i tried a lot. i did same as tutorial but not working here.

    i am not able to understand how to do this...

    when i do CTRL+G it's making group in Photoshop CS3

    attaching image where i wanted to give that look. please explain me bit if you can.

    Well the tutorial is for image ready and you are trying to do it in Photoshop, could this be it?

    btw Photoshop CS3 got image ready inbuilt. no separate image ready for CS3.
