Hello everybody we are in the process of acquiring a client and our job will be to create a link campaign for their hotel listings pages, like this one: http: / / hotels .hotelopia.it/spagna/benidorm/ Now, I've got a few doubts about these pages (we won't be able to touch them) since they don't seem much optimized to me... My worry is that our link campaign won't bring much help because of the pages but they will "blame" us if results don't come. So what I'm asking is: can you spot anything in these pages that I can point them to and say: "look, if you don't fix this you won't get much help by a link campaign" ? Thanks a lot for your replies, bye!
So to get this straight, you want someone from here to do the job for free that you're getting paid for?
If you can read, I'm paid for building a link campaign. What I'm asking for are (small) advices from people smarter and better than me at SEO about the *page*, since I don't think it will benefit much from this campaign (for example it looks too "heavy") but I don't have enough experience to prove it. Is this the way you reply to anybody who asks you for an advice? Or you are trying to sell me your services?
I'm not trying to sell you anything no. Its hard to look at a site seo wise when its in a language you can't read, but I wouldn't use the page title and the h1 as exactly the same phrase. Also there is no real reason to flow pagerank (or even link to) w3.org - someone on your site looking to book a hotel room couldn't care less if you have used valid markup.
Thanks a lot for your help and your suggestions - another thing I noticed is that when you search for that page (or any other similar page on the site) on Google the number in kb that appears next to it is above 150kb - isn't this a huge number?!? Also all the other pages from other sites are about 30-40kb: could this "penalize" the page in the SERPs for "hotel benidorm" (which is its main keyword) ? Thanks again!
