help needed. problem in ie 8

    i have such piece of code (this is my language selection on my site)

    <select>
    <option>ENG</option>
    <option onclick="self.location.href='http://***.com/fr';">FR</option>
    </select>

    why does this stuff not work on IE? Please help. how to make it work.

    Hello there.

    Try something like this.

    
    <select onchange="window.location.href=this.value">
    <option value="http://google.com">ENG</option>
    <option value="http://google.de">DE</option>
    </select>
    
    Code (markup):
    IE does not know onclick function.
