    Hello Web Designers !
Please i need help from web designers here ,i am not a designer but i hired an offshore web designer through odesk to work on my project because i couldn't afford the cost in Europe ,his is doing a good job so far

But i am looking for a program where he can upload all his weekly work to ,so i can hire anyone web designer / programmer to check that everything is working good and that the right program or software is being use for it etc.

This is important to me since i have no knowledge of programming etc
I will like to know the name of software or programme that he can use to do this and if there is anything i should add when requesting for this before asking him to do this.

    Thanks in Advance,
    EveB

you would be better asking for access to his development server so that you can see the progress on the site as he is working on it.
you would just type the url of his development machine into your web browser.

if you want to check that the site is built properly then ask for it to be w3c valid html
there are lots of other things you can do, but most of them (things like pci-dss certification) are costly and probably wont be needed unless you are planning on running an e-commerce site

Thanks for your reply , i asked him to share the web development file link through dropbox.com ,so i can ask someone to look at it but haven't got any reply. the site is going to have e-commerce and donation, do i request for w3c valid html and pci-dss certification or one of the above since i'm having ecommerce on it ? and how expensive is pci-dss certification ?
    Thanks in advance,
    EveB

If you just want to be able to download the files he uploads to the site you can use an FTP client or use your sites management service(cpanel for most) to download the files. For an FTP client I would recommend FileZilla, it's small and user friendly.

You can buy your own hosting and tell your programmer to update all the files on your server, this way you can track the work done by your programmer, and don't forget to take regular backup of the work.

A good developer would be using Project Management techniques which would include Gantt charts enabling you and them to keep on top of time management, resource usage and contingencies. You would have a visual chart of what should have been done by now and simply be able to ask for a demonstration of completion of say for example phase 1. You should also have agreed penalties for late delivery.
