Hi All - I have been registering a few uk domains over the past few months and have noticed that .me.uk has a heap of good names available - .co.uk seems worse than .com at times. Do the local search engines - e.g. google.co.uk etc - see .me.uk the same as they see .co.uk - So basically are the SEO results the same using both extensions? Thanks in advance - Hope you all are making a HEAP of $$ online - There is alot out there ready for the taking. If they have the same effect and you are interested in the UK market - Check in your area if your (keyword).me.uk domain is available.
The search engines see them as the same, but given that .me.uk is meant for personal sites the public trust them far, far less.
Hi, Depends what you're buying for, really. If you're buying to develop, then .me.uk is a little worse. If you're buying to resell, I'd say .me.uk is just about worthless. Mike.
Thanx for comments - It is a TLD - I have purchased a few anyway - and setup my first .me.uk web site now. Importance for me is getting in local UK search results. Have setup the hosting in the UK also. I think general public never have much of an idea about domains and what they mean. They see you up the top of the SEs and just click As far as resale - for me its 10x Monthly earnings generally - so if one of my .me.uk is making 2k a month for 12 months - I think I will still easily get 20k for it
