Hi everyone, I received a PDF with instructions on how to prepare my ad. There were a few terms I would love clarification on. The pdf can be found here if needed: revolustream.com/Coast_Soc_Spec.pdf I am not familiar with the term "proof" (match, rainbow, iris). I am hoping some clarification can be offered to help me determine what this is referring to. Also, when looking at the ad dimensions, I see 3 different measurements for Full Page. Am I correct to assume I should create the image at the Full Page Bleed size, with the understanding that it will be trimmed to the Full Page Trim size? I am confused over the Full Page Non-bleed size. Thank you very much in advance for any assistance you can offer!
Regarding Proof. Typically, you need to send a hard copy or pdf image of the final design in addition to the original source files. This ensures that when they open the source file in their programs, no distortion, color changes, or font changes have occured. They will compare the source file to the proof. As far as "match, rainbox, iris" - I am not sure. I have been doing alot of print ads for the past 3 years and have never seen that. Dimensions - If you are planning on a full bleed image (color to the edges) then you need to design to the full bleed size and make sure all critical images and text are inside the trim size. If you don't care about having a white border around the edges of the page, just design to the non-bleed size. Hope this helps. I am sure all of the professionals can add some thoughts. I buy and print a lot of designs but I do not design much myself.
