Help needed....Directories

    Please be patient with me. I know my questions will be very green and basic.
    I am real new to the internet business world.
    I have a number of questions but will keep it to three....

    1. Will it help my PR (google,yahoo...) if I submit my site to directories?

    2. How do I go about submitting my site to directories? And which ones should I use?

    3. I purchased the program IBP8. Will this do anything for my site?

    I really appreciate the help. Thanks.

    I've been to submitting to directories for a while and my Page rank keeps climbing, so I believe that its one good way to help

    there are several lists of directories out there...heres a few

    Not sure what IBP3 is...?

    IBP is Internet Business Promoter. It is a SEO. IT submits my web site to the engines and helps with key words and lets me know what I am missing. Problem is I am an idiot and can not figure it all out.

    I've never heard of IPB8 before, but I know that I would never use it. Anyone or any software product that promises top placement in search engines is usually crap.
    Its time consuming, but why not do the keyword research, submissions, etc yourself? Theres plenty of info on the internet and on these forums.

    I believe that all new sites should be submitted to a few hundred directories as part of the first few months link building.

    There are services in the forums (alfredo is good) to do this for you or search google for "yourkeyword directory" and submit to the ones that come up first.

    I hate to hear that. The guy that sent it to me said he used it and it helped him move to the first page of all major search engines. I got a feeling while doing it that it was not going to be magic solution.

    I appreciate the advice. I want to post in the link trading and business section of this forum but I have not been a membe rlong enough. I guess I will have to wait?

    How long, if ever will it take to see results from the directories?
    My business or field does not appear to be over crowded so I can not figure out why we will not move up quick.
