I have searched and download at least 15 guestbook scripts and none of them seem to work. I am trying to find a flat file (no database) guestbook script that I can easily insert into one of my already designed web pages.

I really just need a simple script. Does anyone have any good recommendations?

PS I know how to use google, and as I've said I know how to find scripts. But if anyone has had any experience with simple, light, easy to setup and embed script, I could sure use the heads up!

    Thanks,
    J

    Guestbook times has gone!!
Better to use comments form. If you don't know how to program, then go with DISQUS.com, just copy paste the script and it will start working.

The easiest thing to do is to use a wordpress blog for your website.
You can even leave your main web page(s) where they are and install the blog in a sub-directory say http://www.yourdomain.com/wp
Takes two minutes to create from your hosting control panel using fantastico.
If you have the time or inclination first log in to the admin dashboard of your new wordpress site and select 'settings' bottom left, then 'permalinks' and in custom option enter %postname% this will save you a lot of hassle later.
Then create a post or page titled comments.
When you view the wordpress page you have created - just copy the url into a link on your main site html page(s)
If you really want to allow anyone to leave a comment, then I suggest you add protection using a 'recatcha' plugin to help avoid spam.
Then you could go to 'Settings', 'Discussion' and uncheck the 'A comment is held for moderation' box - but I shouldn't do this without having the protection I suggested otherwise you could get so much spam that your site ends up getting shut down.
