    Hi,

My website was recently suspended by iPage, and I was wondering why so I contacted them via live chat.

This is what they had to say:

Agent: Your website php application has some sort of caching system setup which is doing a ton of disk io and is becoming a problem for the storage system in our servers.

Agent: You need to use some other caching system or maybe non at all and rely on just MySQL.

The problem is, I have no idea what any of that means. What is a caching system? What is MySQL?

Can someone help me and tell me what to do in order to resolve my issue? Thanks!

What type of CMS/platform are you using with your website?

It sounds as if someone wrote your sote for you - but did a poor job. You'll have to either contact them and ask them to fix it or hire someone who knows what he's doing and have him fix it. (This usually happens when you determine whom to hire based mostly on price and promises.)

I'll second techiefoodie's question and rukbat's statement -- what's it running under the hood for software?

Though a LOT of cheap hosting just isn't up to the job -- they'll sound all rosy claiming you'll get a nice big VPS for pennies on the dollar, and then you get booted when you actually use the capabilities they claim.

I mean, who's your host? what hosting plan are you paying for? What's your traffic like?

We need a LOT more information before we can even make a reasonable guess as to your problem.

Well, the MySQL part means that they want you to use a database instead of whatever you're currently doing.

It actually has nothing to do with that.
