Hello all. A few weeks ago I started a little backlinking campaign. NOT ONE has showed up as a backlink. Here's what I did:

    I signed up with:

    Hubpages
    Squidoo
    Facebook
    BloggerBlog
    Posterous
    Wordpress
    Tumblr
    Multiply
    Xanga
    Hi5
    LiveJournal
    Bebo

I created an article with 2 keyword rich anchor texts in most of them, leading to my making more money website. A few had the same article in them. NOT ONE has showed up as a backlink. This was weeks ago.

What happened????? Did I do something wrong?

I really want to understand this and make it work? I want to build backlinks to rank higher in google so I can get more traffic. The only backlinks that show up are ones from a couple Forums and ArticlesBase.
What?! I posted at ezine and goarticles. These did not show up!

Also, does it matter how many outbound links to my site that I have at one given website, or is it the different websites that count? For example it says that I have 26 outbound links on a certain forum. does that matter?

Basically here's my questions: If I want to rank higher with Goolge, backlinking, to get more traffic, what should I be trying to do (and avoid)? What REALLY matters and what doesn't? Also, what is DO follow and No Follow; do they matter? Does anyone know why backlinks from the above sites I mentioned, does not show up in my backlinks report? Any finally, where is the best place to get the best backlink status?

P.S. What the heck is 'link juice' and what does it mean?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much community!

Counting backlinks is a pointless task. Spend more time building them.
If you want to rank high, the primary tip is quality content, as you have heard for many times. The second thing to do is building backlinks, as you are doing it now.
There is nothing wrong with what you are doing, it takes time to see the results. Patience my friend.

yes it will take even a month to show your backlinks but they are working even when you do not see them some websites have a page rank 3 and yet google shows they only have 2 backlinks just keep on getting more backlinks.

Because they are not indexed, you need to index them.
Try Pinging them on pingler or pingomatic.com, else create RSS feed of those urls (your backlinks pages) via html2rss.com and submit that feed to RSS feed submission sites like http://www.feedgy.com/ There are so many of them, just google it.

Try to submit articles with backlinks in it. They will be indexed much quicker.
