Help Moving a Blog to a New Domain

I will soon be moving a blog of mine that to a new domain name and I have a few questions I was hoping someone here could help me out with:
    1. Regarding .htaccess redirecting: Currently, the blog is not on the top level of the domain, but with the new domain it would be. What would the code be to put in to my htaccess file on the old domain that would create a 301 permanent redirect to send everything that was at olddomain.com/subfolder to newdomain.com so that something at olddomain.com/subfolder/file.php would instead go to newdomain.com/file.php
    2. Once I have the redirection correctly set up, do I have to worry about my site showing as a fake pagerank? Obviously the new domain wouldn't have a PR yet and I'd have to work on rebuilding backlinks to it, but I don't want to have it punished because of the redirect.
    3. All old content will remain exactly the same as it was but with a new name for the blog and a new URL and it will be removed from the old domain. Will search engines punish me at all for that?
