First thing I might suggest is going through and reading the Policies, especially about putting adsense directly under titles. Then, once you are familiar with the policies, I'd suggest fitting the ads into the flow of your page a little better. Don't hide them or make them look like the rest of your content but fit them into the structure a bit better than how they are currently "dumped" on the page.

Next I would try to find the most natural place on the page for the site and also consider the colors of the ad components. Technology related sites often get low ctr because the viewers are often ad-savvy, but you can still make a go of it. More content, write unique reviews on equipment for example. Search engines like new content rather than something that's already in the index 27 times so that might help get more traffic.

I would suggest to have patience, the first three months should be aimed at building your base, after that you should start seeing some results.

    keyword research
    website structure
    SEO
    backlinks
    competition research

One thing that is extremely important to have a successful Adsense site is to get it rank for your term on the 1st page of the SERP.

How do you get on page 1 of Google?

Get backlinks and when you think you have enough...keep getting more!

All the hard work gonna pay off once you lock your position on the 1st page, you'll make money everyday and you don't have to do too much work afterward then move on to your next site!

Make sure the topic is one you can maintain interest in. It's not how much you earn per click that counts, it's how many clicks * the average rate per click that counts. Would you rather have 10 clicks a day that earn an average of $2.00 per click or would you rather have 500 clicks a day that earn on average only $0.20 per click? Hint, I'd rather have the latter :)

It really depends on how much targeted traffic you're receiving. Try to increase the amount of traffic you get from search engines for your keyword and should see your earnings shoot up.

    Saru,

Another recommendation if you don't mind, try adding or moving your ad placement to "above-the-fold", I'm pretty sure you get more clicks.

Try a big block within the post align to the left...keep the default Adsense colors.

Also try targeting another keyword...i could do a quick keyword research for you and i'll return with the results.

Anything you see can become a niche and make some money from it, example "pens, bottles, hardwood flloors, dog treats" anything with proper keyword research you can find some hidden treasures but just like Adpubster said you should have an interest in it so you keep motivated about writing about it.

For example "dog treats", you see google keyword tool gives you many keywords related to "dog treats" you can build around these keywords provided you research the competition and do proper SEO onsite and off-site.

    keyword CPC Global results
    [dog treats] $1.25 49,500

    [dog treat] $0.88 5,400

    [dog treat recipes] $0.57 9,900

    [homemade dog treats] $0.91 14,800

    [gourmet dog treats] $1.16 2,900

    [dog treat recipe] $0.31 1,600

    [healthy dog treats] $1.27 1,900

Not trying to advertise here but I would recommend the keyword academy, I really think you can find good info there, or just keep asking questions and I'm sure someone here will give you good answers.

I joined a couple of weeks ago, trying to launch some sites and implement their techniques.

Hey do you research backlinks from the competition as well on the top sites? I don't think they talk about that. I mean they say you should be able to go against a PR 3 or below but what if those sites have tons of backlinks. I don't know just wondering.

hey Saru4040 not trying to hijack your thread but I think any information can be helpful.

Good point, actually I do...it's not the TKA way but I also use MS to do my competition backlink analysis.

It takes a little more time but if done right, i usually dominate the niche.

I think it helps to see what kind of backlinks your competition are getting or using to stay in the top 4 position.

I notice a weird trend and testing my backlink gather right now, seems like Google been given more credit to backlink from blog comments on high PR site.

PR usually don't mean anything but one of my niche site got kick off the #1 position because my competitor got some high PR blog comments from some none related sites but the link was properly anchor. ( I kept track of his/her backlinks)

But yes I do check my competitor backlinks of determine how long it'll take for me to pass them.
