Hi members,i am just getting into affiliate marketing through articles and find it hard to research keywords.I tried using wordtracker but for all keyword i am seeing huge competeting websites, i checked without quotes. For bum marketing,do i need to see competition with quotes or without quotes? Is it ok if keyword has 5000 000 competeting sites with quotes?
Doesn't look too promising to me. I normally look for keywords which have <100000 competing google search results.
Yes amazingly there is a huge competitive market online just as there is a huge competitive market offline. If you are looking for easy money the best I know of, is to rob a bank...... Otherwise there will always be competition. If that scares you then this is probably the wrong investment of your time & energy!
I know Sir but just need an idea for keyword research, just wanted to know if we have to see the keyword competition with or without quotes? Does people search online with quotes?
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal. Only SEOs and those who think they are an SEO. Do you use quotes??? I don't.
quotes give you a better idea of how many people are specifically targeting your keyword phrase. if you really want to know how many pages you are competing against for a phrase put this in the Google search bar: intitle:"my keyword phrase" This will give you all of the pages in Google's index which have that phrase in their title.
The part in bold only tells how many pages have the keyword term in the title tag. Given that sites rank at # 1 without the keywords in the title then makes this a useless metric to measure or determine true competition level. In my eyes it doesn't matter, as there will always be competition. How many competitors does not matter in the grand scheme of things. What matters is how you beat the competition!
Hello All, I'm new to DP, but not new to internet marketing (I have been fulltime for about two years). And I do know my bum marketing. So let me clear things up a bit for you. When determining your keyword competition, you are going to search in Google WITH quotes. Sure, people don't type in quotes when they are looking up information. But that's not what you are doing. Let's take the example of the long tail keyword phrase: growing red roses. If we type it as is (without quotes) into Google, you will get all the results of webpages that have ANY of the individual words of the keyword phrases. So you will get webpages that have "growing", "red", and "roses" in them. And as you might guess, much of this will not be direct competition. You'll get pages on red bull, growing a beard, the movie War of the Roses, etc. By placing the potential long tail keyword phrase INSIDE quotes, you will get the resulting webpages that have the exact phrase in them. So you will get your direct competition. These pages have "growing red roses" on them. Whether or not your articles can outrank them depend on the strength and optimization of the current ranking pages. So yes, do place your potential keyword inside of quotes when determining competition. JoeMack
Sem, aren't you a PPC guy? When doing keyword research what you want to find out how many pages you have to compete with, if people actually search like that is irrelevant. Typing it in quotes will let you see how many pages you're competing with. If you're going to take em down with Ezine Articles then under 10,000 is best. Zibblu's method will tell you how many people that have your phrase included in the title, which is by far the most important onpage SEO element, so there's a chance that these people know at least a little bit of SEO. Good luck.
Never be afraid of competition no matter how crowded it is. Dream high. If you want to achieve big, you must expect to hurdle big obstacles.
