    Help!

My Microsoft word got all spazzu on me today. When I'm editing documents with my team using Basecamp project management (uploading versions and downloading them again to make changes and then uploading them again), Word has decided not to actually save my changes anymore. It's like it says to itself "Let's not and say we did." When I try and upload a file again in my
"Finder" (Mac users unite) I can see the last time the doc was modified and it's always the time of the last upload I did. Not any of the changes I made since then actually get saved to that file.

I've lost work about 3 times today and I have to workaround it by copying and pasting documents into new files and renaming them, and then uploading them to our project management system.

Does anyone have an idea of what I did or what's happening? Microsoft support is $50US/hr. Steep. I might have to buy a new Word and reinstall but I hope I don't have to and I don't even know where I can turn for help (except for yahoo answers and you guys!)

    Linda

One thing that you might want to try...instead of just hitting the save button go File -> Save As and when it asks you where to save and what you want to name the file pick the same location and then click the actual file, then click save. It will ask you if you want to replace the file, click yes or ok...then I would suggest copying the entire document, closing the file, then opening it again to make sure that the changes were saved. If the changes aren't saved you still have a copy of your work on the clipboard and can paste it into a new word file.

If all else fails, you can download Open Office, it's a free open source office suite that will save documents in a microsoft word format or re-install word...

It seems like a lot of work and time doing the above...but I hope you get it worked out.

I think you should reinstall or buy a new word...
Maybe it's a virus in your computer... or spyware.
    Try downloading an anti-spyware product.

I'm on a Mac, I thought we don't get viruses!??

I tried the save as thing and it doesn't override the old version at all.

    Thanks for your responses.
