When I applied for adsense 2 months back, adsense replied: Well, I didn't understand what is the second guideline they are asking for: "accurate personal information with your application"?
Go to blogger.com and create a blog there. I recently set my girlfriend up for a blog on the site (they are attached with Google). She made her first post one day, applied for adsense the next day - Got accepted the day after that. Once they accept your blog, you can use adsense anywhere. This provides a better platform, because your blog profile will have all of your personal information attached to it. When Google assesses your blog (provided your content is interesting, and your writing is in English) they will accept you right away. Don't put irrelevant affiliate links in your blog either. At least until your accepted. I am assuming your site was blog related, and the information you provided to adsense was completely different from the information about you on your blogsite.
*You must provide accurate personal information with your application that matches the information on your page.* Who is the registrar of the URL, is this a URL that you own, and did you use the same name for the adsense personal information as the URL registration?
@hopeless4 I'm on blogger platform and my blog is about blogger (see my sig ). I cannot get approved so easily as I'm from India, and the rule says that I've to wait for 6 months! But now, my blog is more than 6 mths old, added more articles and also bought a domain, so i reapplied for adsense again tomorrow after correcting all the guidelines they have asked for. @ForumSeeder Yes, I own this url.
