    The most major factor i can see is that a .edu domain links to that page with billiards in anchor text and it does carry a lot of weight although the gurus say google dont care about .edu or .gov but this is a fact

    There are a lot of good authority inlinks pointing to this page and they are mostly so called natural links

    more over some of the pages linking to it are like 7-8 years old so you can imagine when google was born he saw it from childhood and it does carry a lot of importance for google even though google has become big daddy now :)

    I am still looking for more reasons....

    Its not only guru's saying it also google employees :) Believe it its true

    The reason that page ranks so well is because it has hunders of links to that page containing the anchor text "Billiards"

    google says they dont treat a .edu and .gov link differently is that they want that part clean and dont want people like me paying or bribing webmasters of those domain to get links on them. and .edu .gov importance still prevails as no one really cares about it and all links on them are natural ones :)
    if you can get me a link on .edu or .gov i will buy it from you ;)
