Help Me Understand eCPM

    Heya :)

    ok.. I got one site with G AS on it and I see tonight 1 click (new site) the eCPM is like $28.41 and you can only guess what the earnings are

    is the ecpm what the advertising paying on the other end?

    No, ecpm is not what the advertiser pays. Google does not disclose what percentage it gives you of what the advertiser pays, but it is thought to be around 50% - give or take 10% depending on who is guessing. It means you would get $28.41 (or 2.8 cents per click) if you got 1000 clicks that were exactly the same.

    The ecpm is really worthless unless for one or a few clicks. It's just a way to judge how a channel is performing against other channels or domains once you get enough clicks to make the number statistically meaningful.
