    1. Download all the files in the SMF forums backup
    2. Backup your SQL database.
    3. Setup a new database on your new host.
    4. Restore your SQL on this database.
    5. Open the config file in your SMF forum, change the database structure to the new file.
    6. Upload all the files to your new FTP

    Wallah! Your forums have moved!

If you're using PHPMyAdmin - you create a new Database (name it the same as your old, if needed).

Next, go to that DB and look for the tab "Import". Then you'll see a way to upload the Backup file you created.

It will automatically upload all the tables, etc. and you should be good to go.

Rather than edit the config file, you can download the php repair file from the Simple Machines site, upload it to your directory, open the php repair file in your browser and pretty much accept its defaults. It'll alter the config file and update all your links.

It's a really handy file that php repair thing...

I moved one of my SMF forums from one server to another so if you still need help just gimme a shout...
