4 months is not a long enough timeframe to really get a good result, especially if your niche is a popular one. Google has a first link priority. Which means that the first link on the page is the one that gets the most authority. So I would be looking at the amount of links that you have on your homepage for a start. The more links, the more diluted their value. I would continue with good quality content, social media marketing, blog posts/commenting and finding backlinks of value.

That means you are not doing the right things to be ranked. i would suggest you to go through Google webmaster quality guidelines first to learn some basic things on the Quality SEO process which will improve your website's ranking and performance in the search engine.
