    Ok,
Another guy is trying to scam me...and this time he is trying to steal 4,5k from me!!!

He is trying to sell me a site which he doesnt own. I called the owner from the domain info and he told me that he did not completed the deal with the person who is trying to sell me the same site (this person has bidded bin at an auction and did not pay.....but somehow made the seller send the files)

Anyways I am sick of such people.

I was scammed when I was a newbie and this really made me suffer alot.

So what should I do? I would really want to trick this guy somehow.

I am thinking of saying that I agree to pay the money but need some money to repay a debt and will try to make him send the money.

If lets say I somehow make this guy pay me, I will officially give the money as donation to an organization and will post proof.

    So here we are.
    Are there any idea?

    Here is the scenario:

He knows : I am willing to pay a 4500 through a bank wire.
He doesnt know: That I am aware that he is a crook.

I know: That he has the files.

    :p :p :p

Thats why you should only pay once the site has been transferred over to you.

I called the number from the whois info. This would be the only absolute and undeniable owner of the site. This is the legal registrant.

Maybe you are right. I was thinking on how to teach a lesson to this crook. These guys can do some pretty nasty damage...and should be taught a lesson.

Hmm....I am asking myself the question. With all the e-commerce and online business why isnt there a internet police? A legislative body which will hunt down all signs of scams.

I mean....the normal forces are not flexible enough to deal with scammers. Something like a carfax....you put on his email...and see the history...the domains he owned and stuff like that. Any complaints? Any suspicious activities etc.

this would make people stick to their emails...and would give just a minor sense of security to the growing online communities. Email is now a tangible asset...right? We use it as our wallets. Why not use it as our online identities.

I know. But sometime figures can be manipulted and then you would end paying in "gold" for "rotten fish"

I would leave it. Unless you really are desperate to get back at him which you seem like you are.

    I am not desparate.

I just remembered a year and a half ago when I gave my only money for a site which was worthless. This probably happened at a pretty bad moment for me and I tend to loath people who hunt inexperienced webmasters and try to get the last dime out of their pocket.

anyways, this was just an idea...I have notified the owner of this guy and case is closed.

    moving on.

    cheers

username of this guy is "rochem1984" on sitepoint.

I would forget about it and move on. Just make a note to not do business with this person. Scammers are everywhere, online and offline. I wouldn't waste my time on him if I were you, he isn't even worth it.

Even though it would be tempting to scam a scammer, I just don't think I could do it. I don't know if it's my morales.. or whatever it is lol.

If you have his email, just sign him up to like 10000s of daily newsletters that aught to piss him off.
