    I have a forum: ourteenlife.phpbbnow.com

Is it possible for me to remove the ads placed on it and replace them with my own?

    Thank you

Like of course not, how do you think the service is available free to you? The adverts pay for the service. If you want your own ads, then get your own hosting.

    The site says

"We try to keep our finaces healthy just by inserting small non intrusive ads in the forums. By no means you will experience annoying pop up windows and the like. Most of our ads are text fragments with closely related content within the context where they appear."

They're using Google Adsense - I doubt if they'll let you remove it and replace it with your own.

Unless they have a paid option?

Just also noticed - site says

"Our users have posted a total of 0 articles
    We have 1 registered user"

If you don't like the ads, don't use the service - shouldn't create any problems to anyone.

hmm... hosting costs peanuts nowadays... if you are willing to WRITE a forum script from scratch, why not get proper hosting?

I can set you up with hosting, that could handle this and much more, and you can automatically install a forum from the control panel, without the need for any php coding. All for $75.00 a year.

No you can't remove their ads. But I think freepowerboards.com (another free phpbb forum) offer phpbb hosting and you can add adbrite to your forum but not google adsense. They can also offer assistance in adbrite application/installation to your site. But I didn't get their service since I want my forum to have my own adsense. I suggest that if you have an existing site, you can just add a forum to it by going to your admin panel, Fantastico offers one click PhpBB installation. No coding needed. You just need to replace the default header and that's pretty much what you need to do.

    Good luck :D
