Help me pick a recurring payment processor, please!

Would appreciate help picking a recurring payment processor for the following:

    * Offer the first month at $1 and subsequent months at a higher price, like $25-$50
    * Accept credit cards issued from one country and used in another (the nature of my business for travelers requires this)
    * Accept credit cards from almost any country
    * Have lax fraud prevention (I sell non-tangible products, so I'm not hit hard by chargebacks. I simply cancel the fraudster's subscription)

Other features that would be nice to have:
    * Maybe accept payments in Arab Emirates Dirham (AED)?
    * Accept forms of payments that don't involve credit cards?

I tried PayPal and I'm currently using ClickBank; both are very restrictive and inconvenient in many ways.

    Would really appreciate some guidance.

Why dont you try applying for a CCBILL merchant account. They offer excellent recurring payment facility

Is that the payment processor that does porn sites? Could their involvement in porn cause them to be banned in some countries, like Arab countries that censor porn sites?

ccbill is for porn. there is no secret. Its not restrictive right but would any customer trust them? Use liberty reserves API. Its a great way to setup your recurring payments as well as mass pay. They also have the lowest fees in the market.

Yeah, I thought I've come across CCBill before some where ;)

My customers probably don't care who the payment processor is as long as they trust me and my website doesn't look shoddy.

What about the ability to suppress monthly email notifications of subscription payments? Do CCBill or Liberty Reserve have that option? (I assume the other requirements I mentioned in the original post are covered by them, right?)

What do you guys think about Authorize.net or 1ShoppingCart?

Try one of the authorize.net resellers (we use cdgcommerce). You've got full control of email notifications, etc.

I'm not a huge fan of their API though.

I've heard good things about recurly also.

cscholberg, I sent you a msg.

katsneak, yeah, 1ShoppingCart is an Authorize.net reseller. What do you not like about their API? (I bet you haven't had to deal with ClickBank's API). Recurly looks good, but from what I just read, it's not a payment processor but a programming interface for other payment processors.
