i applied 2 3 times for ODP editor but i m not getting success can any one plz tell me that what all the things i should take care for?
Rather than a thread from over two years ago, I would suggest looking at the advice from dplurker and popotalk which are both sound suggestions.
No problem. Not sure if this question was directed at me or the original poster? Not that it would matter in relation to the OP's question about becoming an editor though.
No that is absolutely untrue. It doesn't matter if you have a site at all, let alone listed in dmoz already. http://dmoz.org/help/become.html has information on becoming an editor if you are interested.
Richie_Ni why don't you have listings in your directories? They look kinda useless; seems unlikely that many people would pay your prices to be listed in empty directories. Maybe you should figure out how to run your own directories before you spread misinformation about DMOZ.
Yes, spelling and grammar. If you filled out the application in the same way you post here, I'm sure it was deleted w/o even being read.
I would hope that spelling and grammar would be an important part of an application, but not the sole deciding factor for it. The application should still be reviewed unless of course the spelling and grammar issues were so prevalent that it rendered the application unreviewable.
Well, not knowing for sure anything about the OP, I gave benefit of the doubt. None of us always post on the forums like we would elsewhere, so perhaps he would take the application more seriously than some forums an spell check the application.
Both of the directories are new.No more than 3 months old.I'll submit my dirs to ODP when they get more established! I've my own strategy .In some point, they are unfinished works. Thanks for the advice!
For the record-I don't think Richie_Ni was purposefully spreading miss-information. At least that is not the impression that I get, but admittedly I don't know him or his motives. Seems to me that he was miss-informed and in trying to help someone else, he passed along the bad information. I don't see any mal-intent there, just previous bad advice. Hopefully that has been clarified a bit better now.
