    Hello DP-ers

    How's everyone doing??

I am just after some advice for http://www.htmlent.com/ which I am running.

Currently, it's got 3 adsense blocks as you can see. Each block gets around 700 impressions a month and the CTR is pretty low yet the CPC can be very high.

The linkreel gets no clicks at all, the top banner gets a much higher CPC than the bottom one. The CTR for both banners is around 0.27%

So how can I improve that?

Get more traffic for your site. It will improve your CTR.

    More traffic = High CTR

I dont think a higher CTR is possible for that website. Why? The adverts look like adverts they have nothing to do with your website content at all (at least for me that was the case). Adverts work better when you receive targeted traffic to your website that will be interested in adverts that are relevant to the content of that website. So for example I go on a fitness website I want to learn about losing weight and I see an interesting advert saying lose weight in 30 days and so I click it. Your website I would only be interested to use as a tool for html and coding - I dont care about landline calls for 4p a minute. Does this make sense?

Yeah it does, so what can I do to get more relevant ads?

What should the next step be?

Place 2 Large Rectangle(336 x 280) adsense blocks instead of one banner above the big text-area.

Secondly, you traffic is very low. Even if you improve your CTR, you will not be able to make good money.

What utter crap!!! CTR stands for Click Through Ratio. It is NOT dependant on traffic! It is the ratio of visitors in relation to those clicking on ads, if you have a million hits an hour and one person clicks on an ad then the CTR will be so tiny it is unreal. Yet if you have just one visitor an hour and they click on an add then your CTR will be 100%. Do not claim more traffic = high CTR as it's just crap!
Improving the CTR is down to ad placement and blending in the main, and keyword density to ensure the ads delivered are relative to your site
Also note that you need a privacy policy on your site, or risk an adsense ban, so get one up on that site asap or get banned

You need more traffic to analyze better.

I would try adding a little more content. I understand that it's a tool (and you can keep that at the top) but without content it's hard for Google to figure out what type of ads to serve. I bet this would result in a higher CTR.

I agree with pwily! You should first add some content! Try with 2 rectangle ads at the top!
