I have an unusual situation that I need some help with and actually very simple if you think about it. I am going to start producing websites for small mom and pop restaurants, and what I would like to do is to find a simple program that these restaurants can run a simple ticker on desktops. What it needs to be, is first of all cheap, and second of all that anyone can enter the info. (Restaurant employees). I had this potential customer ask me that if I did make him a web page that if it was possible to do this? Now what I am asking from the forum that if this is possible using RSS or some kind of HTML ticker that customers can add to their desktop and that the employees of the restaurant can change the link everyday to point at the special of the day? Now there are a whole lot of mom and pop greasy spoons that would love to have a web page, but are barely able to keep the doors opened at the same time. If this does not exist, can anyone do it inexpensively or does anyone know how to do it. Now we all know that for the most part at lunch we eat a very local lunch at the best price we can find it close to our work, and it would be nice to be able to just look at a ticker to who is playing at our favorite club, and click here and link to the website, or see what the daily special is.
i dont know about tickers too much, but i can recommend a piece of software that is cheap and easy to use, i use serif web x2 to design simple easy to use sites, u can build a site in day if your competent enough with the program, you dont need to know html as it writes the code for you, i'm not sure how you would work it into such a site like you need, but i'm pretty sure you could easilt set up a user log in system that means they can add stuff to the site etc, plus they have just released web x4 which i hear is good
