Help me Get Started

Hi I am the owner of some sites. But I don't want to advertise on them. I want to get started with Google Adsense though. My account is already approved, I signed up 5 years ago, and hasn't been touched since. I heard that blogs or sites with quality content are good for adsense. I'm thinking of, making a tutorial and resources site for GIMP (image editor) I figure this will get users, and traffic, and maybe add a blog on that site. What do you guys think, is this a good idea for adsense or not?

I love GIMP I was using it today.
If you are going to start from scratch then build a wordpress self hosted site if you have the cash.
Write some good content with keywords that you want to target , get your site indexed by google and when you see in the SERP's for your keyword place the adsense on your site.
Try to use a simple design with as little graphics as possible and these sites seems to do better with adsense.
PM me the URL so I can come learn how to better use GIMP.

Ya. Your idea is good enough to start. Start right now. Get a domain , web hosting (auto installs the wordpress would be great) , a good theme...

And daily update content......When you go to write, think yourself as a visitor to your site...Write everything in that mind site...So it will get popular as soon..Add images , and videos wherever necessary....Because Vlogging (video blogging) is the current booming thread....

yea it sounds like a good idea.

I know you said you didn't want to advertise on your websites. But if they get a very good amount of traffic a single banner at the bottom of pages or something small on the sides probably wouldn't hurt especially if it is blended well.

Thank you everybody. I will continue with this and register a domain name and use WordPress for my basis, think like a user and offer daily content they will like.

Well my sites are not allowed my Google TOS, even if they were I wouldn't risk it they generate 10,000 a year and I don't want to interrupt. ;)
