Help me get off Askimet's spam list

Discussion in 'WordPress' started by tombsc, Mar 13, 2009.

My comments on blogs are being flagged as spam by askimet. I never spam blogs but my keyword includes the word 'free' which I think automatically makes it spam according to Askimet.

If my comments get approved hopefully I'll get off the list.

I have already been removed from the spam list once, but am now back in it after making 1 post!

Could you please PM me your blog url and let me comment, then approve my comments from your spam queue?

    All help much appreciated.

    Thanks

get a free ac here www.wordpress.com and then go to ur paid blog and enter API key (on dashboard in the top u will see link, if not find then go to plugins settings).

And enter ur API key, it will auto rediret towards ur wordpress free hosted blog and will get key from there.

If you are leaving comments just for the backlinks , you are spamming blogs.. That why they call it that.

You have been black listed twice now and you still don't get the picture yet ?

I never approve general comments from people who have no clue what the post is really about, and I never approve comments with links to sites that offer free stuff, downloads, drugs, porn, and sweepstakes/giveaways.

Unfortunately years of previous webmasters with those type of sites have ruined it for you.
Most people steer clear of letting those type of site slink from their blog.

I'm not leaving comments just for backlinks. I'm commenting on related blogs. Therefore I'm not spamming as I already said.
Askimet is blocking me because the word 'free' is in my url, and seems to be blacklisted. That's why I need some help to get my comments approved, otherwise they just end up in the spam queue where they are most likely deleted without being read.
So please don't jump to conclusions, I need some genuine assistance and have never and will never spam blogs for backlinks.

Well really you shouldn't even use keywords in your name because that spot is actually for you name and most likely your name doesn't have free in it. Some see keywords being used as names as spam.

That's why I only use keywords on blogs with keywordluv - otherwise I use my name.

So just use a different email address, or don't log in with a website and you can comment all you want. A lot of people won't approve a link with "Free 3g iPhone" in the name slot. It is an obvious spam, especially when the comment is "Window’s mobile is surely lagging behind? Go for the iPhone like everyone else!"

So I am sure that others have checked out the comments you have left (pretty easy to do), to see exactly what you are doing. It's not necessarily bad, and many bloggers do it all the time, some people just don't let it slide by, I don't care what you say, it is a drive by for link love...It's normal, many people do it, they just can't do it on any of my blogs.

Ok - so what is the point of the website field being on the comments form if you aren't supposed to use it!?

The point is, not too many people are going to approve your banned account on their blog, just so you can drop a link to your blog from ours, which seems to be the goal here,

Although commenting for back links is a common method, and many people have "Do follow" blogs to encourage comments, the goal of having people comment to a blog owner is to have people actually contribute to the conversation, or the community, and that usually means something a little more than a one liner with your keywords in the name field.

Why don't you just open another blog, comment on your own blog and approve it....Then you are back in the saddle again.

I can honestly say I am not trying to get some backlinks here - my aim is to get off the blacklist.

If it is that simple then that's what I'll do. I assumed it would take more than 1 blog's approval to get me out of the spam list.

    Thanks for the advice. :)
