Help me get my site off the ground(would be very much indebted)

I would be forever greatful if you could look at my site and give me tips on how I could SEO my site. Simple tips as I'm no expert.

My site isn't really a blog, but it uses blogger software. This could develop to be a really useful website but the traffic is litlle that i'm considering scrapping it.

Any constructive help really appreciated

 

put a title a tag and some of your keywords in your meta tags, it'll help your rankings to get in a high SERP. .. and have a unique content on your site.. I saw your blog/site.. and it's kinda lame.. you can improve the design so that the visitors would not get bored..

 

yup a million blogs on making money is so much more interesting..

if people are interested in archaeology they should really be into the site

gets 10000 uniques a day..I think its all about SEO

 

One of the first things to do is Key word research. Find out what terms, if any, people are using to find data like this. see(google) overture keyword tool

Once you have that, you should incorporate those into your text. And more text is always good. You can easily add more descriptions under each photo. The photos could be renamed to have descriptive names like: largest-egyptian-tomb-photo-giza.jpg. This will help image search results.

Join a few more blog directories or communities, lilke bumpzee, I see you joined blogCatalog which is good.

Get listed in dmoz, yahoo directory, best of the web and other top directories.

Translate your pages for increased reach and total number of pages indexed.

Start a google sitemaps account and make an xml sitemap. Then do the same for yahoo.

Get a real domain name and write a professional press release for submission via prweb and others.

and this is just off the top of my head, there are hundreds of other things which can be done. see also, "linkbait," feedburner and seo for blogger

Thankyou your answer was kinda inspiring. A number of things I didn't know about. I do intend to get a real website after I practice things out on blogger.

One question, sometimes I attach short blurbs about a particular site from wikipedia, as an introduction, is it okay to do this or is it better to put in my own words?
