Hi, I look to starting a new website very soon and I would like some good ideas for a new niche I am starting. It doesn't matter what type of niche it is but I need some help deciding on which will be best for SEO. Currently, I am thinking of building a website regarding informations about computer hardwares such as memory chips, RAM, processors, which includes how-to guides on building custom PC, upgrading, the assembly and that sort of stuff. Basically an all-around computer website. I'm not sure if this is a good idea so I need some feedback. Thanks for all who help.

Well... two questions - in case this is something you are going to do by yourself:

    1) Do you have passion for "computer hardwares such as memory chips, RAM, processors, which includes how-to guides on building custom PC, upgrading, the assembly and that sort of stuff."?

    2) Will you be persistent to continue building the site after 3-5 years?

    The last question:

    3) Why do you think it might not be a good idea?

It's got to be about something you're really interested in, visuke. Another consideration is, "will it sell?"
That idea you've got looks good enough to me. That's information that a lot of people are looking for these days.

I wish you luck with your quest!

    To find your first niche:

    1. What interest you the most in this world
    2. What part of what interest you the most is most interesting for you.

There you have your niche. That theme will be easy for you to write good content about.

Promoting computers etc isn't really a niche! It will be very hard to promote these products effeciently unless your using PPC.

There is some interesting products to promote at more niche, link in my signature, you could probably build up a page to rank very high with their products.

But if you find writing articles about computers interesting, then do it more as a hobby and you will see the traffic coming. One bit of advice, dont hurry to plaster your site with ads.

Thanks for the tips guys. Really much appreciated. But I'm looking to expand on the broader range of computer hardware information but I can't say at the moment. I have yet to seen a website that got big in the same style that I am thinking of right now but I have seen one which was not that great either. There might be some out there but I'm not sure. Anyways enough of that, you said something about promoting computer types of websites are hard. I agree since there are pretty much a lot these days. PPC devoted websites might get more chance since the PPC is starting to become popular on the market. I'll see what I can do. Currently, I'm developing a visual layout for the website but I'm still not too sure if this website will take off. I'm not really looking for something big just something with decent traffic as I intend to leave the MySpace market =P

You are talking about pay per click right ? Not to discourage you, but ppc sites is even more difficult to get traffic to than computer sites. The marked for this sites is totally over crowded.
