    Hi All

I have been involved in a couple of websites previously (mainly working with developers) but never have I developed one by myself before by scratch, so I thought I would give it a go.

I have decided to document my process (and problems) on this thread, and I was hoping that some of you might be able to help me along the way.

The site is www.horse-jobs.net and my main keyword that I am targetting is "Horse Jobs".

I have arranged hosting with Godaddy, I am attempting to do the site through html and css and I have already uploaded a basic index page. I have also attached a rough mock up to give you an idea of what I am trying to achieve.

If you have any thoughts on my site so far, please let me know. I have already got a couple of questions, and I will list them out in a new post.

    Cheers

    Jake

Below is the first question I have:

    1. How do I go about setting a fixed width for my website?

Most web designers use lorem dummy text to style and set the layout for text areas. Search lorem in google and check it out.
