With the problems I have been having with Google indexing my site I am starting to think Yahoo is better. Yahoo seems to be quite happy to index almost my entire site, but Google is not. Maybe Yahoo is not as fussy.
Just tell him if he does not start using Google soon he will be getting a visit from two rather large men in black suits with bald heads and with very shiny smiles. If he looks outside his window he will see the big black van parked across the street!
Google has a little over 50% market share Yahoo & MSN have another 45% Your friend isnt wrong.....you are for trying to change a friend...
hahaha, come on man.... anyway... from what I have heard, google's search algorgithm is a masterpiece. It is a highly guarded secret that millions would love to know. I remember hearing about an incident recently where a student from some asian county or something created an impressive new algorithm, and while it wasn't better than googles, google jumped on it just so that competitors couldn't gain any ground. I am under the impression that google's algo is simply the best search algo around. If hotbot was really that much better.... you guys would be using that instead of google. I've had the same problems, so I agree with you there, john.
jimsmith.. Really I was serious...you shouldn't try to change people...perhaps expanding your own view would be much more practical and beneficial....those who think their way is the only way....are soon left alone.... The algo is closely guarded. Nobody brought hotbot into the discussion. The algorithim you speak of is named Orion and it is not really an algo as much as a way to change the search results display. What Orion does is go beyond identifying keywords and displaying a snippet but rather displays a representation of the webpage. Ori Allon (Orion) left the University of New South Wales to go to work for G. Orion seeks webpages of content on a topic strongly related to the key word term or search query. Orion will return a portion of the page, while at the time project a list of topics related to the key word term, so the visitor can select what they feel is most relevant. The results of the search query are immediately on display in the form of expanded text extracts, giving the visitor highly relevant, on topic information without the need to visit the website - However that option is still available. Will Google use it. No idea. Still thinking about it. Ohh and jim..I dont pull my thoughts out of thin air, but rather what I have read, studied, tested, and learned from much smarter people than myself. Peace
When I first heard the description of Orion (similar to Sem's) it struck me as sounding similar to the new ask.com...
Hhmm now that you mention it .....that does sound very similar What I found confusing is the algorithim is not finished... I had thought Google purchased the algo but actually it seems they merely hired Ari, to finish writing it under Google records thought UNSW will earn a percentage of any renumeration from it's usage. I guess that is the same as what they do for Stanford. On a side note there is also another somewhat famous Orion in SEO circles who is Dr. Garcia.
Never heard of him...I kind of stick with the original models....never was into celebrity music impersonaters....not into cover bands either. As for the page I noticed todays date... so it looks like you scraped that up recently. I would have read the whole page but who or whatever wrote it...for lack of wanting to offend.....should find another profession besides author.
Search engines are tools. If one isn’t giving you the results you want for a given query, try a different search engine. It’s okay to have a default that you usually strat with, but don’t define your life by it. The Komodo Tale Google Datacenter Tool
