Help me conduct a study

I'm trying to do a rudimentary study of the internet, to find the most sought after commodity on the internet.

The methodology is simple: use Google Insights to find out the most searched single term out there. Terms must be related to niches and not company names.

    Google Insights filter settings:
    web search
    worldwide
    last 12 months
    all categories

So far these are my findings:

    1. Lyrics
    2. Video
    3. Sex
    4. Games
    5. Porn

I need help from people finding out other single terms that I may not have thought about, and hopefully, we can find out the most lucrative niches on the net.

Help form a definitive top 10 list that is more updated than the ones currently on the web

I think you have to take the help of PPC programs to promote your website to the global Internet users.

And I think you misunderstood me. It's just meant to be a fun thread that could help observe internet trends and hopefully will benefit many other webmasters in the long run.

You an use a traffic estimator such as semrush to see how much traffic a term gets as well. I don't think this necessarily means it's the most lucrative niche or not, just high volume. The dollar store might do a lot of business but when it comes to sheer profit I would tend to think higher end items are king. Typically the more generic a term is the more traffic / competitive it is. Notice all those phrases on there are no more than 2 words; anymore and it becomes longtail.

This is a nice project, I think. But I also think targeting single word keywords would not be the right direction for SEOers. :)

    all the best,

@Grimm, no company names allowed. Only words that are niches which can be targeted. Facebook, Twitter and YouTube are companies
