So I'm starting a new flash arcade site and currently try to target those keywords: "free online games, online games, free games, games". At first I thought I would target less competitive keywords but after looking at that table from http://keywordgrader.com/ I found that the competition seemed to be similar for almost every keywords except "games". So I decided to target "free online games" first and then "online games", "free games" instead of targetting longer tail keywords since they seemed to offer similar competition. I'm I right to do so and should I really trust this website? Your opinion would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I start with what would I type in? then I look at google keyword tool, but wordtracker seems to be the best and they have a free trial so you can check it out. dave
I'd suggest digging in a bit. Ranking high for "free online games" certainly would bring an avalanche of traffic, but your competition is going to be a bit steep (I would imagine). I have a free keyword tool that pulls results from wordtracker that would allow you to take "free online games" and generate additional keywords similar to that. I use it to generate longer lists, then I take my time and review them, and think about which ones would be the best to pursue. It also tells you how much competition there is for each keyword. There's also a video training series that shows you how to get the profitable long tail keywords, and stuff like that. Matt
