Help me choose-HP pavilion DV6426us versus Dell vostro 1500

    Hello everyone,

    I am begging for your help on this matter.

    I am in the market for a laptop that costs no more than $600ish dollars to use primarily as a media box. In other words I will connect it to my TV(s-video)and run an internet based TV program (that allows you to view satelite channels-subscription based). I am down to two options:

    HP has a better build quality, however avoid AMD Turion processors as they overheat in HP laptops.

    I personally would go for the HP one, you cannot go wrong with Intel.

    Thank you for replying and appreciate your feedback. I just got scared by some people describing horror stories about HP's support group. Should that be a concern of mine? In addition, should the Processor and FSB speed matter for me in this instance?
