This contest holder isn't a scammer by any means, I have worked with him on and away from DP and found him to be an honest guy. This contest doesn't definitely have a winner, he said he'd pay if he bought the suggested name, not that he'd pay for the best suggestion. Just have a little faith, he'll be back on here i'm sure.
I've more or less stopped participating in name suggestion contests. Very few people pick winners even if there are good suggestions posted. We just waste our time in most cases.
No one here has called the thread starter a scammer. I think "scammer" came out when I said that DP has more problems than threads like this. But it's true that most contests like this don't pick winners. We're not just referring to this particular contest.
I've left multiple responses in this thread. There's no reason to believe I'm ignoring it. As I stated, there were only a couple suggestions that I was interested in, and none of the owners have replied to my emails. The contest rules are very straight forward. I'll continue to check back for more suggestions, but you're right, there is absolutely no guarantee that you'll win. That's the nature of a contest here. Pretty sure everyone understands that, like it or not.
No offense, but yes, you have left multiple comments, like and 'a great name is worth more than 500$'. Of course there´s a never a guarantee to win a contest, but the nature of a contest is that the contest holder should have a real interest in someone winning. I have suggested e-male.com and never got a reply, so it´s my turn to guess whether you just didn´t like it, you didn´t know how to contact the domain owner or if you happened to contact him but never got a reply or your offer was too low. I assume something similar happened to many who suggested URLs, so I doubt it´s the lack of decent suggestions that kept someone from winning this contest already.
