Ok, I was messing around on a shoutbox on BlogExplosion recently, and, well, I'll let you read for yourself. (start reading at the bottom) So, can you help me come up with some arguments to change this guys mind? Josh
He's a thief! Plain and simple. He's justifying his actions like a thief justifies his. "These corporations aren't going to miss a few dollars here and there." "They have stuff like this built into their prices." F'n' punk!
Yes, well, I was hoping for more along the lines of how to get him to stop, not how to call him names Josh
Heh...it's not easy to make people who don't have an AW account understand. It's not rocket science, but many just don't get it; they don't understand that clicking for clicking's sake is a 100% ripoff for the person paying for those ads. It's a shame, because I think a lot of folks are getting banned as a result of friends and family thinking that they're doing the website owner a "favor" by clicking ads. AmCy
How about a couple of months inside for fraud ?? At the end of the day, you're never going to change his mind. The thing I find really f'in annoying is that I actually can't click on my ads even if it's something I want. Not a problem with some of the text ads as I can see the url, but some of the ads are a right pain to track down. I can't remember what it was specifically now, but I do remember that it took me half an hour to find the blasted site so I could order one. Adsense ought to have a box where you can say disregard clicks from this IP address.
Get the Adsense Preview Tool and you can click all the ads that you want! https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/topic.py?topic=160&ctx=en:leftnav
Yep, the preview tool is handy at times. But it's not much use when you want to click on a specific ad. Never looked at the feedback link - thanks for that Josh. Green coming your way - or it will be when I've spread it around a bit.
If he is really trying to help the webmaster, this is the wrong way. This will eventually get the webmaster banned from AS alltogether...that should change his mind.
Josh, let GOOGLE handle adsense, it's not your place to monitor who does what, the more c/fraud gets discussed, the more it actually gets promoted,
Well, google can't really do anything to hurt him. Hes not doing invalid clicks on HIS site, hes just generating them on other sites. So its not like they could ban his account or something. And I don't like losing/not winning an argument Josh
It is an issue of the heart, if he wants to steal and not think anything of it. His conscience doesn't work or he has none I would suppose. Point him to this thread. As an adword advertiser He is STEALING from people like me. How uncool is that.
