I'm going freaking nuts trying to buy a car. I have been spending over $100 a day on my rental and I'm returning it tomorrow since it's making me broke. Here's what I'm looking for something very good on gas, affordable, dark color under 100,000 miles for under $10,000 There are millions of cars out there and I can't figure out what to buy I'm going crazy with the huge amount of cars people are selling. The last car I bought broke down 2 weeks after I bought it. The guy lied to me about a blown head gasket and a massive leak in the power stearing pump plus the car was a salvage title which the guy never told me. I lost several thousand on that car
I would look on craiglist for cars in your area. One thing I would absolutely recommend is getting the car inspected by a mechanic that you trust (not the seller's). If you buy a lemon from a private dealer, it is likely that you will have no recourse, so I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to have it inspected by a mechanic you trust. My advice is the same if you are looking to buy a used car from a dealer as well. I can't help you with makes and models... I drive a junk box
You could also try on ebay, you of course have to be careful, but there are some great cars for cheap on that site. And I agree with the other poster, get it inspected before you buy no matter what.
I bought a car off autotrader from a near-by dealer and am pretty happy with my purchase. Since gas prices are outrages, I would suggest maybe a nice Honda Civic. you can get one under 10 grand for sure. Ebay, Autotrader, Craigslist are all great.
Hi, how about checking out consumerreports.org. My sister was looking for a car and she checked them out, they tell you the best that's out there based on testing and the best prices you can afford.
I'll ask my sis how her shopping went for a car, cause she needed one bad too and got a really nice one for a great price and is quite happy with it.
I want a Yaris but i think there a rip off. Dealers are ripping people off and charging sticker or even 1000's higher because of the demand. They retail for a little over $10,000 and there selling them for over $17,000.
