    Hi,

I received a check from CJ and I deposited the same in the bank but then they lost the Check.. Now what should I do??? Should I request a new check? I heard that it costs $25 or is it possible to cancel my last check and then ask them to add that to the new check.

    Thanks,
    Mahesh

Your bank lost the cheque? If you got a deposit receipt then just go talk to the bank manager and kick up a stink.

Yes, the bank lost the check.. but that manager is ready to pay the fees in case i opt for another check.. but i would like to know whether CJ will send another check.

As I told you is this possible to ask then to send the check together with the next one... or they issue that seperately.. plz tell m e the applicable fees in both cases...

Why lie about it, a lost check is a lost check, ecpecially if the bank is willing to pay for any fees. Who knows maybe CJ will want to talk to the bank.

I read somewhere that CJ charges $25 to reissue a check, but your best bet is just to ask them. I always recieve prompt replies from them.

    Hi,

I asked them about that.. the reply was...

"We can issue a stop payment on your check, but you will be charged the fee of $25. Also, per our Accounting department, we can either process a replacement check or redeposit the funds back into the publishers account and he will receive it included with his next payout. Please let us know as soon as possible what you would like us to do."

Now i asked whether the fees is applicable in both cases that is in case I asked them to add that to the account. But still I think that fees is there. Waiting for their reply.

Yes I emailed them.. they said they would charge $25 for reissue... then after that I got a mail that the same check is cashed.. am confused.. Now i think that manager was wrong.... he said he lost the check... Now i have again requested them for clarification about the same check to ensure that the check number and all are the same..

Review with your bank again. If the manager lost the check it's his responsibility.

I called the manager and he told me that the check didnt reach to the main branch.. so I asked CJ for clarification and am waiting for their response.

As said earlier according to them that check is already cashed... maybe coz they mean a different check number.

    Waiting....

If the bank lost the check, it is the banks responsibility to cover the funds. Make them do it. You do have the deposit slip/receipt, correct?

Yes the bank lost the check and yes I do have the deposit slip with me. I will ask CJ to reissue another Check and bank will cover the fees for that. But in case they told that its cashed.. then something serious has happended.

Finally I got the response from CJ...

Thank you for contacting Commission Junction. In regards to your request to reissue a check, we were notified that check 408840 in the amount of $832.50 has been cashed. We are not able to place a stop payment on a cashed check. We hope this answers your question.

    So what should I do?
