Hi there; I was examining my inward link profile yesterday and found hundreds of on-line pharmacy/ Viagra sites link TO me. I've no idea how this has occurred and have triple checked to ensure we are not linking out to any of them in-case there was some sort of hacking involved. Thankfully we are not. Can anyone tell me if this is going to be a problem? The site has nothing to do with Viagra, on-line medication or anything in that vein.
The same happened once on my blogspot blog, i had like 200 backlinks from viagra sites (i could see it in google webmaster tools) but when i followed those links the pages had no link pointing to my website. This is very strange indeed. After that my blog was deindexed and dropped in SERP.
myste. for sure there was a cloacking. You see a normal content you visit that site, and when google visit it too, it see something totally different. You must report those kind of websites.
the site has definitely not been cloaked - our IT guys are on the ball about that sort of thing. After asking some of the older staff, the site used to have a forum that, through no fault of its own garnered a load of spam inward links. What I'm concerned about is if anyone has had experience about inward links actually harming a site.
