    Its frusrating.

I know the Adwords Keyword Tool now releases how mcuh terms are searched for.

But then when I go to SEOBOOK I see very different numbers.

What is the best way to do it now-a-days?

If you looking for keywords from Google use their Adwords tool.

Don't use WordTracker or SEObook. They are already outdated as the yesteryear program, overture, which Yahoo acquired. The keyword tool that really makes any difference is Adwords Keywords.

You will get most of the results in SEobook to be wrong, since many people have already tweaked their lists and their list is based wholly on metacrawler, which is even more outdated. Still, I see many people running around SEObook calling they are very trendy. But in my experience, they give 100 per cent inaccurate results.

I try not to rely on the raw numbers that much on any of the keyword tools. I use them more as a comparison of relative search numbers between niches. While the count may not be exact, it at least gives me an idea of which niche is more popular.

I completely agree. There are no absolute numbers in this game.
The value is in comparative research and trend analysis.
