HELP: is unlimited reseller what I think it is?

I think I am misunderstanding how unlimited reseller works and I need some help.

Say I buy a 10GB reseller plan (for our example I do not oversell) then I can sell 10GB of space - what I use for what ever price I want right?

If I have an unlimited plan then I can sell unlimited hosting for any price? So if I have an unlimited reseller I can be like "Hey I am selling 100 unlimited plans for $1/month" and if it costs me $10/month I make $90/month (although I would have to take care of support tickets for 100 people :p)

If this is the case then can't I buy an unlimited and sell like 20 unlimited plans then give like 100 unlimited plans free to be nice?

Something did not sound right about that, so please correct me!

this mean u can have many account as you need but in total you would still have 10 Gb of space. you can also over sell but you just have to to make sure all your account in total do not go over the bandwidth or hard drive space

Sorry, I was talking about 2 different plans. One is 10GB of storage the other is unlimited. I am looking into purchasing a reseller, the unlimited i not much more than the 10GB plan I am looking at.

    Plan 1:
    Storage 10GB
    Transfer 1TB
    Domains Unlimited
    Subdomains Unlimited
    Accounts Unlimited

    Plan 2:
    Storage Unlimited
    Transfer Unlimited
    Domains Unlimited
    Subdomains Unlimited
    Accounts Unlimited

Plan 2 was like $3/month more or something stupid. I am asking if plan 2 works the same way that plan 1 works?

If so then if I buy plan 2 I can sell unlimited unlmited plans?

If this is a reseller hosting plan, then yes you are correct.

Please be aware, that resellers (and shared hosting) have strict terms. You are responsible for your clients. $3/month is pretty low for a reseller, I can't see how they make a profit without overselling the server quite a bit. In the end, Just make sure to read the terms of service.

There is no such thing as Unlimited. That should answer any questions you have.

Yes, everything has limits - check out their Terms and Conditions - many will qualify the term 'unlimited'.

However, if you do not want the problem of handling your customers support, consider the 100% free reseller program for domains and web hosting, with a turnkey website where everything is done for you - freeresellersprogram.com

All you do is set your prices and promote your website.

I understand unlimited for shared hosting but unlimited for reseller makes no sense. I would stick to reseller hosting with limits instead of unlimited.

It was not cheap I said $3 MORE than the other plan. I did decide NOT to go with it though based mostly on the fact that it is prob. oversold and it is in India so if there is a problem I will be in trouble.

    Thanks for all your responces.

Absolutely agree with this. If we read their terms carefully, then we would find what they describe about "unlimited" :D
