Help Installing Drupal to Dreamhost

    Hello,

I'm attempting to install Drupal onto Dreamhost and, although I have set up a database and am pretty sure I have the name right, I am getting this error message:

Failed to connect to your MySQL database server. MySQL reports the following message: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2).

    * Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    * Are you sure that you have typed the correct database hostname?
    * Are you sure that the database server is running?

For more help, see the Installation and upgrading handbook. If you are unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your hosting provider.

Anyone else ever encountered this? I would love some advice. Thanks!

This is a little late but in case it still helps...I wrote an article a while back that walks you through step-by-step for installing Drupal on a Dreamhost server. This SHOULD fix your problem if you go through each step specifically...
