We welcome site suggestions from non-editors, but there is absolutely no knowing when volunteers might review them, because editors have many other ways of finding sites. It is easy to make a suggestion - just read and follow these instructions: http://www.dmoz.org/add.html
You could skip the submission process all together... some category editors don't bother with the submission queue at all, they just find sites to add through email, forums, search engines, newsgroups, or newpapers.... Though honestly, if you've read the ADD page, and pretty much followed those guidelines, you shouldn't have much of a problem. SUBMIT & FORGET
What twisted logic. Why skip one process because someone might not use it, when using the process increases the chance of an editor finding a site. Yes not all editors look at submissions queue, but some do. The only thing you got right was to say submit and forget. But if the op wants to know about DMOZ perhaps they should listen to experienced editors, some on here are just ex-editors with little or no real experience but a large chip..and if the cap fits....
How is it twisted? If the category you are submitting to has an editor that does not use the submission queue, then there is no point in submitting at all. Some categories have a wait time of YEARS. Bothering to submit to them is also a waste of time. Simply having the best site one can possibly have is the ONLY sure fire way of getting a listing, whether or not they submit. The chances are the same, so is the wait time... so the ONLY twisted logic in any of this is the fact that DMOZ offers a means of submitting a site and then does not require it's use. I fully agree, and as you are not and have never been an editor, you rank even lower then my advice.
And how on earth would anyone know that? The editor himself may not even know what he will choose to do next time he logs in, so it seems extraordinary for anyone else to base any decision on trying to guess. To restate the only sensible information: DMOZ welcomes site suggestions, but as it is not a listing service, there are no time frames for review, and no guarantee of listing.
