Help in promoting a website containing avatars

I am a newbie in the SEO-ing universe . I have created some avatars and a friend of mine created the website for me . And now i am i need for advice for promoting my website . I found a lot of usefull stuff on this forum it is realy great but i am realy a newbie so if someone could give me some stept to step advice it would be very nice . well, try to reach your traffic through forums, myspace and such. (do not spam however)

 

try forums, you can even use the avatar you had created to promote your site/product. In the first place who needs avatars, the people who is in the forums community.

 

That's right. So the main stream of traffic you can get is from forums. Register to as many forums you can, and use a signature with a link to your site.

Also myspace can be a cool source of traffic if you have some account with many friends.

 

I agree that placing your site in the signature helps greatly Do try to do some link exchange with relevant sites also.

Print ads work for some sites, but for your site I would stick to online advertising, maybe you could put a small watermark on your avatars. Try buying links on forums and getting people to put your link on their signatures.

 

get some inbound link from those forums. put it as your avatar and post more at DP. IT will helps you in the long run.,

 

newspaper advertising is a no for me . I can't reach my targeted visitors with newspapares . I have reaced PR 3 but i am still not satisfied by the links in and the number of visitors. I have added A Avatar Generator , A banner Generator and A Photoshop related forum . How should i promote further . Each of the componets as one or i should continue promoting my main avatar forum and add some links to the others parts of the website ...

 

Since you are promoting avatars - you can also try renting out avatar spaces from forum members. (hint, hint) and use that avatar space for displaying some of your prominent and attractive avatars - the best and the most cost effective way would be to have a daily changing avatar if you rent it out though

 

How would be promoting avatar through second life?
