Help in finding the solution why there's no impressions

Discussion in 'Google AdWords' started by terenceguzon, Dec 29, 2008.

I'm a newbie in PPC and currently trying out Google Adwords.

I'm having trouble even having impressions in our site: http://dodeals.com. I only got impressions on the content network. DoDeals.com is formerly known as hotbargainproperties.com so they are basically the same or a mirror/redirection of hotbargainproperties.com. No impressions in any keyword even if it is long tail or already very specific and related.

Can anyone give some advice or tips on how to fix this?

I've already tried other softwares like GoogleGoggles and still no luck with dodeals.com.

Go to your adgroup, click on the keywords tab, and it will show you whether your bid if high enough, or if your QS is too low.

    Thanks for the reply.

I checked that and it says QS = 1/10. What I did next was make another campaign that has the SAME ads and keywords but different Destination URL and Display URL. I made the Display and Destination URL as http://hotbargainproperties.com instead of http://dodeals.com.

Result: with hotbargainproperties.com, QS = 7/10. The only problem is the ads got disapproved for the reason of "Display URL is not the same as Destination URL" because hotbargainproperties.com gets redirected to dodeals.com

**Side note: hotbargainproperties.com is a duplicate/mirror site of dodeals.com. Dodeals.com is formerly known as hotbargainproperties.com.

It makes no sense, isn't it? Except the second site is seen as more relevant than the first one (probably because of URLs too). You could setup your campaign for hotbargainproperties.com.

Better check your display url n destination url. follow rule of having same domain in dest url. so ur problem of different url will be solved. ( also check adwords editorial policy for url)
    Good luck!

yeah, it doesn't make sense at all..

    Example: Campaign #1
    Headline: Same as Campaign #2
Ad line 1: Same as campaign #2
Ad line 2: Same as Campaign #2
    Display URL: dodeals.com
    Destination URL: dodeals.com

    **Same keywords with campaign #2
    **Result:
ALL keywords are QS = 1/10
Campaign is working just no impressions

    Example: Campaign #2
    Headline: Same as Campaign #1
Ad line 1: Same as campaign #1
Ad line 2: Same as Campaign #1
    Display URL: hotbargainproperties.com
    Destination URL: hotbargainproperties.com

    **Same keywords with campaign #2
    **Result:
Most if not all keywords are QS = 7/10
Campaign is not working - disapproved because it says Display and Destination URLS are not the same.

I'm not that techy with websites stuff and our webmaster can't seem to fix it.

Sidenote: Hotbargainproperties.com and dodeals.com has the same landing pages.

There are many things to think about, for example, do you bid enough? do you budget is still enough? What's the bid option? Also you shall check whether you got any referrers from google ad in your traffic statis.

To my knowledge, Google is not going to show two ads with the same ad copy, even if they are in different accounts.

Your ads are likely not showing because you can only have one keyword show PER account, not campaign. So if you have the word "widget" in 5 campaigns in one account, it will only show for 1 of those campaigns.

Chances are that that one campaign you have is running better than the other, thats why its not showing for the other campaign.

At the same time, if Hotbargainproperties.com and dodeals.com are the same site, forward to one another, etc., they could be smacked down for duplicate content.

Google doesn't allow redirects. The display URL *must* match the URL where the user ultimately lands. In this case, the display URL has to be dodeals.com. The quality score is higher yes bc it is more relevant, but once they detect it is a redirect, your ad will be shut down. It's a technicality and a violation of their TOS. Do not resubmit the ad as-is, you will stand a chance of being permanently banned.
