Hey. I display Both image and text ads (the mixed option ) on my entire network. Sometimes the clickrates are very low (like 0,4 % and sometimes jump to 4 -6 percent) Does it have to be showing image and text ads? Maybe when i have better click they r showing the text ads? Or the opposite? Check this: 29,084 132 0.45% $0.36 $10.43 Isnt that too low? What should i display? Image or Text ads? Or both like im doing?
I find people are just ad blind to images, so I go with just text ads. As for your CTR I find the more visitors you get the higher and more consistent your CTR is.
Both Text and Image ads are better to use to earn more income.Image ads attracts and Text ads are clickable.
i use both: text and image Ads, but after long stats test i decided to remove image ads at all, they are not profitable for me. Now i use only text ads and in my case it was right decision, because my revenues increased. Other case, if you have BIG TRAFFIC, let`s say from 500K impressions/day, you can place image and text Ads on the site and it will great combination! Watch how BIG saites, like msn, yahoo or excite.com do this... BIG site - MORE ads possibilities!
In this case, you really need to study on it. Try use only one of them and see the result, if the result not good, then shift to anoter For me, text is providing better result. However, some site do have better result on image
I personally use both but in some occassions I have websites that are earning more revenue that I have set that only use banners and image ads, its worth doing some testing yourself and basically tracking everything that you can, tracking is key to finding out what does and doesnt work. I think that more people can related to what an image is about but with some text ads if it isnt too good of an ad copy sometimes its unclear as to what is actually being made available.
Your CTR is low, try to it by optimizing ads placements, trying different ad units. And I prefer text ads, but it depends on site niche. So try both, and see which one performs better
