Hi everyone, I have a health related website that has me going up a wall recently. Since I started the site in August, I have ranked for two keywords somewhere between 2 and 810. Being a good web detective, I crawled this forum and and other to find out that my supplemental index is probably the cause. I went to a few sites to find out my supplemental ratio and it turns out that it's quite high, sitting at 87% right now (according to http://www.mapelli.info/tools/supplemental-index-ratio-calculator). My site is structured like this: I have a main page with several information pages, and then I have a blog. My blog is the killer. I've edited the robots.txt file but I don't that did any good. My question is: What is the best way to improve this supplemental ratio? It's been almost 3 weeks since tweaking my robots.txt file but still no love from the G monster. The last time I added content (2 days ago) the page quickly climbed up to 17 but today it's down to the 800's. I think Google wants to like my page b/c it's quality but the supplementals are not helping me at all. Thanks for any advice you can dish me! cckid
I have this problem too with some of my sites... The only thing i can suggest is to update content more often of inside pages and promote them. Thats what i am doing.
thanks for the tips...but what's the best way to increase links quickly? Forums and directory submissions? I submitted the site to about 50 directories so far.
